Dear HRMS Families,

It is hard to believe we are less than three weeks away from the first day of school. Many families are still making the most of these final days of summer, and we feel fortunate to live in such a beautiful place to enjoy them.

Here at Harbor Ridge, our team is busy preparing classrooms, hallways, and spaces to ensure students and staff have everything they need for a strong start. This time of year brings a sense of excitement and possibility, a fresh start for everyone. It can also bring some butterflies. Students may be wondering: What will my classes be like? Who will my homeroom teacher be? Who will I sit with at lunch?

These feelings are natural. We encourage you to talk with your student, listen to their thoughts, and use opportunities like 6th Grade Orientation (August 19th) & Walkabout Day (August 25th) to help them feel more comfortable. Remind them that HRMS is full of caring staff and welcoming students who will help them find their place, their friends, and their rhythm. That first-day anxiousness will fade as they settle in and feel at home.

We are excited to welcome all our Falcons back to campus soon.

Just wanted to provide an update about schedules. We understand that many students and families have been able to see schedules through various platforms. Please know that schedules are still a work in progress. Over the next week our counselors will be working hard to review, make adjustments, and ensure students have the classes they need. We will provide an update on timeline in the coming days.

Additionally, as many of you know Mrs. Lenker has transitioned to Goodman Middle School as the new assistant principal. We are excited for her new adventure and will miss her! We would like to welcome Beth Ruffner to HRMS as our new counselor! Ms. Ruffler was previously at Purdy Elementary, and is thrilled to be joining the Falcon Family.
