Dear HRMS Families,
Thank you to all the students, families, and staff who have welcomed Mr. Hering and me into the Falcon Family. Your kindness has been incredible, and we are truly excited for the school year ahead. Meeting so many of you at 6th Grade Orientation and the Walkabout Day was a highlight. The smiles, energy, and eagerness for learning were inspiring.
This newsletter contains important information to help everyone get off to a smooth start. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 3rd, and it is not a late start. School begins at 8:15 AM, and doors will open at 7:45 AM. Staff and student leaders will be ready to help anyone who is finding their way around the building or adjusting to new classes.
Please remind your student to check their schedule on the portal one more time Tuesday evening. Our counselors have worked tirelessly to prepare schedules. While not every student was able to receive all of their preferred classes, due to district requirements, staffing, and resources, we are confident every schedule reflects a balanced and meaningful middle school experience.
As I prepare for my own daughter to begin 6th grade next week, I know the mix of emotions families are feeling. It can be bittersweet to watch our children step into new responsibilities and independence. At the same time, these moments are filled with excitement, growth, and opportunities to see them thrive.
We are so glad to begin this journey together. Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday.
Go Falcons
