Dear Falcon Families,
As the leaves change, the days get shorter, and it gets dark a little earlier each evening, we’re reminded that a new season brings new routines and transitions. This time of year can feel busy, and even our middle schoolers may feel the effects of changing schedules, less daylight, and the demands of school and activities.
The teenage brain is still developing, particularly the prefrontal cortex, which helps with planning, decision-making, and managing emotions. At the same time, the brain is highly adaptable, strengthening connections as students learn and gain new experiences. This is a powerful reminder that middle schoolers are still learning how to navigate big emotions, solve problems, and respond to challenges.
As a mother of a middle schooler, I’m reminding myself to lead with patience, give grace, and look for the good in each day. Our students are growing and learning in so many ways, and sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is recognize their effort, celebrate their progress, and remind them that we believe in them.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for being part of our Falcon family. We look forward to seeing everyone at conferences next week. These conversations are a wonderful opportunity to connect, celebrate student successes, and work together to support each student’s continued growth.
It’s always a great day to be a Falcon.
Go Falcons!
